British Empire Title

10th (North Lincoln) Regiment of Foot

10th (North Lincoln) Regiment of Foot Commanding Officers

The following list is gleaned from different sources. It is incomplete and in some cases inaccurate, and there are gaps. The early commandants are taken from Richard Cannon’s Historical Record published in 1848.

A list of senior officers provided by Steve Brown at https://www.napoleon-series.org/military-info/organization/Britain/Infantry/Regiments/c_10thFoot.html gives valuable information for the dates 1793 - 1815. A second battalion was raised in December 1804 and it is not clear which officers commanded which battalion. Records and Badges of the British Army by Chichester and Burges-Short (1900) supplies a list of COs from 1833 to 1898, and Hart’s Army Lists was consulted to provide the names of COs up to WW1 but does not make it clear when lieutenant-colonels actually took over command.
