The Kaiser-i-Hind in Dazzle Camouflage Scheme

The Kaiser-i-Hind plied between Britain and Australia via India for much of the war. It broke the record for sailing times between Plymouth and Bombay in 1916 no doubt encouraged by avoiding German u-boat activity. The Dazzle Camouflage Scheme was an innovative design to try and confuse any U-boat commanders from being able to estimate the distance to their target and hence make their torpedoes more likely to miss their target. There are not many photographs of the Kaiser-i-Hind in its Dazzle Camouflage Scheme due to people being discouraged in taking photographs during the war. Dr Glover explains that these photographs were taken as ship left Bombay in November 1917 en route to Britain. I believe Dr Glover was at Bombay to join the hospital ship HMHS Delta.
