Abeokuta Palace

This was the palace occupied by the Alake of Egbaland who is the paramount Yoruba king of the Egba, a clan in Abeokuta. At the time of this picture postcard the Alake of Egbaland was Adesanya Osolake Gbadebo who ruled until beyond independence in 1962.
