Driving in Colonial Nigeria, c1926

With no garages to speak of, erratic roads and punishing climactic conditions, owning a car in Colonial Nigeria must have required a lot of patience, skill and fortitude to deal with all the problems likely to arise. However, the car did provide unparalleled leisure and work opportunities if it were running. And as the top picture shows, it would have been quite the draw for the locals to see the first cars driving around their country. The license plate is OW 885. I believe it is a Willy's Overland Whippet type 96 which was produced around 1926.
