The left-hand medal is the 1939-45 Star with a ribbon of dark blue, red and light blue. The next medal is the Africa Star 1940-43 with a pale buff ribbon, central red stripe, a dark line on the left, light blue line on the right. The third medal is the Italy Star with the colours of the Italian flag. The silver medal on the right is the War Medal 1939-45 awarded to all full-time personnel in the armed forces. The reverse of the medal has a victorious lion standing on a two-headed dragon.
