Fateh Muhammad was born in 1882 and enrolled on 1 Jan 1900. His service up to the end of World War One was as follows:

Fateh Muhammad held the rank of Havildar when he was recommended for an award for bravery in Iraq when the 53rd Sikhs were fighting the Turks. The Citation for the award of Indian Order of Merit (2nd Class):
‘2973 Havildar Fateh Muhammad, 53rd Sikhs (Frontier Force). At the action of Shaikh Sa’ad on the 6th and 7th January 1916, this non-commissioned officer was very specially conspicuous for the gallantry with which he led his section in the advance and assault, and for the coolness and resource with which he handled his men.’

Captain Fateh Muhammad returned to service during World War Two. He was at the Recruiting Reception Camp at Jhelum. He lived at Malot in Jhelum where he died on 23 December 1972.
