The embroidery on this blue sabretache is actually gold, but faded to silver. The A R cypher of Queen Adelaide is partly dull gold and partly bright. The oak leaf design is elaborate, forming a basis for the crossed lances. The crown has bright scarlet cushions. This design was repeated on the hind corners of the shabraque, as seen in the Spooner print of a mounted officer 1835. The gold lace around the edge is the pattern worn by staff officers and is probably a replacement for the original Herringbone pattern lace.
