The portrait of Captain Williams has three main figures, of which the trumpeter is one. The regiment was still, at that time, dressed in blue with crimson facings, and this trumpeter, in agreement with the trumpeter in the 1819 Wildman portrait, wears a white coatee with red facings and brass shoulder scales. His lance cap has a white top, crossed with red and yellow cords, and a red plume. The trumpet cords are shown as mainly red. His grey trousers have a yellow stripe. The horse is a grey, with a blue embroidered shabraque and a white sheepskin.
