The routes taken by the various columns under Sir Charles Grey’s command are marked in crimson on this map. From Trinité in the northeast Dundas first headed southwest, then up the northeast coast and inland at Capot River towards St Pierre. Campbell’s flank companies were sent from Trinité westwards to Morne Rouge. From the south, at Trois Rivières, Grey headed north around the east side of Fort Royal Bay, while Whyte’s Brigade went west towards the southern coast of the Bay. A smaller crooked line shows the movement of the brigade under Colonel Sir Charles Gordon at Case de Navire and Fort Royal.
