Londonderry is reached via Lough Foyle, a large expanse of water accessible through a narrow mouth at Magilligan Point. The city of Londonderry (Derry) is on the broad River Foyle. Steuart’s regiment was sent round to Lough Swilly where Inch Island can be seen with a land connection at low tide near Tooban. Rathmullan is on the west side of the Lough.
