This photo reveals a different format from the modern-day mock-ups. The small Union flag in the top corner covers a larger area than we are used to seeing. The dimensions given in the 1768 warrant were 6ft 6ins flying and 6ft on the pike. The quality of this old photo is poor so although the number IX is visible, it is not possible to see REGT. above it.
