Little is known about this bandmaster except that he was the bandmaster of the 2nd Battalion band of the Norfolk Regiment c1890. The Army Lists only list commissioned officers. Bandmasters occupied a status between Warrant Officers and Commissioned officers. A photo of the 2nd Battalion Band in Burma in 1889 shows a blurred image of Bandmaster Gage in dress uniform.
