British Empire Title

The 9th (The East Norfolk) Regiment of Foot

The Band in China, 1935

The 1st Battalion went from India to China in 1935 and they are here seen marching in khaki service dress. The band are wearing the same webbing braces and ammunition pouches as the combat troops. The small pouches on each side of the waist-belt were each designed to carry 15 rounds of .303 rifle ammunition. This equipment was introduced in 1932, although it was very similar to the 1908 webbing belts and pouches.
