Bandmaster E C H Burgess stands on the left dressed in a uniform very similar to the officers. He wears a double-breasted blue frock coat which was re-adopted in the early 20th century, having been discontinued in 1867. There are no rank badges on his shoulder but his appointment is indicated by the embroidered band badge on his sleeve. Officers had regimental Britannia badges either side of the collar but the Bandmaster does not have them. A crimson silk sash is worn around the waist but there is no sign of a sword. The blue forage cap also follows the pattern worn by officers; it has a black silk patterned cap-band as worn on the previous pattern forage cap. The Britannia badge on the front is in gilt metal.
Band Sergeant A W Sharpe wears a special pattern scarlet dress tunic. He has three sergeants’ stripes on his right arm with a metal band badge above them. The yellow collar is edged with gold braid and he has gold lace on the scarlet shoulder wings. The tunic is fastened with five brass buttons and there are breast pockets with button-down flaps. The cuffs differ from the pointed pattern worn by the other bandsmen. They are yellow round cuffs with a scarlet flap. His blue forage cap has a red piped rim around the top and a bimetal cap badge as worn by the rank and file. His medals include those for WW1 and he has a crimson sash of office on his right shoulder.
