E C H Burgess was bandmaster of the 2nd Battalion Norfolk Regiment. This photo shows him in hot climate mess dress after World War 1. The 2nd Battalion served on the Northwest Frontier between 1920 and 1921. In 1922 they were stationed in Iraq, returning to England in 1924. He wears miniature medals that include WW1 and the coronation of Edward VII and George V.
