Pipe Major, No.2 Dress 1999

When wearing khaki no.2 dress the Pipe Major does not have the tartan shoulder plaid, so that his crimson sergeant’s sash shows more distinctly. The badges on his right sleeve are confined to a piper’s badge, a crown on red backing, and four chevrons. The bag of his bagpipes is plain black instead of the Gordons tartan seen in the photo of the Pipes and Drums 1998, and there is no pipe banner.
