British Empire Title

The Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders

The Jubilee Review 1887

This print is a simplistic view of the march past at Aldershot on 9 July 1887 as part of the celebrations of Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee. The Queen watches the parade in her carriage. The massed bands stand in the centre as the army marches past, cavalry first and infantry after, with the artillery firing a salute in the background. The Cameron Highlanders are not easily recognisable from this reproduction but they must have been a welcome sight in their kilts and waving feather bonnets.
