The Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders

Highlanders at Bareilly

The actions of the Cameron Highlanders during May 1858 were heroic, not least because of the debilitating heat of the Indian summer. This print shows Highlanders in shirtsleeve order in conflict with, according to a caption, ‘Ghazees before Bareilly on 6 May 1858’ The print was published in The History of the Indian Mutiny by Charles Ball (1958)
