This re-enactment group from https://www.redcoat.org/ are dressed in the uniforms of the 10th (North Lincolns) Regiment of Foot and hold the two replica Colours of the regiment as they would have looked in the American War of Independence c1775. This photo gives a good impression of the size of the Colours in relation to the men who carried them.
On the left is the King’s Colour which conforms to the 1768 Royal Warrant. The Colour is the Union flag which at that time was the combined crosses of St George of England and St Andrew of Scotland. The red saltire of Ireland was not added until 1801. The centre of the Colour has the regimental number ‘X’ on a cartouche surrounded by a wreath of roses and thistles. This appears on both sides of the flag.
The other one is the Regimental Colour which is in the facing colour of the regiment which for the 10th, was yellow. The Union flag is reduced to a small area in the top corner and the number of the regiment is in the centre, also on a cartouche, surrounded by a wreath of English roses and Scottish thistles.
The Colours measure 6’6” flying by 6’ on the pile. The pike was almost 10 feet long, with a gilt spearhead shape on top.
