British Empire Title

10th (North Lincoln) Regiment of Foot

Officer’s Waist-Belt Clasp 1881

The change of title in 1881 meant that the previous clasp, which had a crown over the number 10 was replaced by a silver Sphinx on a rough-surfaced gilt circle. The outer circle that this slotted into was a silver strap inscribed THE LINCOLNSHIRE REGIMENT. It should be noted that ‘THE’ does not appear on the other ranks' helmet plate or the officers’ cap badge.
