British Empire Title

10th (North Lincoln) Regiment of Foot

Officer’s Shako Plate 1861 - 1869

The infantry shako was changed and reduced in size in 1855 and again in 1862. The gilt plate on the front was smaller than the previous star badge; 3.25 inches deep by 2.75 inches wide. Some regiments were permitted to display special badges in the centre, but most, like the 10th, had to be content with the regimental number in stencilled figures.
