Prince of Wales in Singapore

This picture was taken on December 2nd, 1941, just a week before the Japanese attack. The British sent just the two battleships to the area with woefully inadequate air defence. They became easy targets for the Japanese and with their sinking was stripped away the entire system for using the Royal Navy to defend the Pacific from Japanese aggression.
