Indian Troops in the Old Fort, Larnaca

The scene is inside the old Ottoman Fort in Larnaca. It was built by the Ottomans in the early 17th century to replace the damaged Lusignan castle that existed previously. The Indian troops are there to garrison the fort, protecting the port of Larnaca. In the foreground a man uses scales which suggests that the group are traders, either exchanging money or selling goods.
