The King’s Own Borderers added ‘Scottish’ to their title in 1887, and a doublet replaced the tunic. This meant a change of waist-belt which was fastened with this clasp. The symbolic representation of Edinburgh castle in the centre is surrounded by a wreath of thistles, all on a Saltire. These silver emblems are on a seeded gilt rectangle.
