Henry Collingwood Vibart


Henry Collingwood Vibart joined the 9th East Norfolk Regiment as an ensign on 18 August 1854 and served in the Crimea as a lieutenant from 16 Feb 1855. In the siege of Sevastopol he took part in the assault on the Cemetery on 18 June 1855. He was 2nd Lieutenant-colonel in the 1st Battalion from July 1881 and took over command of the battalion in July 1882, holding that position until August 1884. He was made honorary major-general on his retirement.
