British Empire Title

The 9th (The East Norfolk) Regiment of Foot

King’s and Regimental Colours 1772

This modern illustration is conjectural but it illustrates the King’s Colour and the 2nd or Regimental Colour as they were up until 1800. In 1800 the Act of Union with Ireland added the red saltire of St Patrick, and shamrocks were added to the wreath. These Colours also pre-date the adoption of the Britannia badge by the 9th Regiment, officially granted on 30 July 1799.
