Sir Charles Orr's Memoirs Volume 1

Heavy Battery

This picture is from just four years after Charles Orr was in Roorkee and indeed could include officers and personnel known to the author. It shows members of the Western Division of the Royal Artillery in Roorkee and the kind of size and uniforms of the officers stationed there towards the end of the Victorian period. Notice that many of the officers are wearing Army Temperance Association medallions as little crosses on their chest. The two Indians have Royal Artillery cap badges in their pugarees.
