Sea Hawks at Suez


Using Cyprus as a base, British forces landed with French forces in Egypt under a pretence to stop the Suez Canal falling prey to Israeli-Egyptian fighting. Unbeknownst to the rest of the world at the time, Britain and France had arranged with Israel to invade Egypt in order to create the excuse for them to intervene.
