Pilgrim Fathers leave Delft

This is an interesting image that reminds us that the Pilgrim fathers had already sought a religious safe-haven in Holland before being forced to make alternate plans when the Spanish began expanding their influence in the Low Countries. This picture shows them in Delft loading up to return to England where they intended to gain permission from the Plymouth Company of Merchants to establish a colony in North America.
