With the uniform changes of 1855-56 the expensive embroidered pouch was discontinued and the silver fronted light dragoon pattern pouch was adopted by the heavy cavalry. The KDG opted for the universal gilt VR cypher and crown. The pouch-belt remained the same as before, with ornate gilt fittings. This example was part of a uniform dating from 1896 but the pouch and belt could be much older.
