Franz Josef, Emperor of Austria and King of Hungary became Colonel-in-Chief of the regiment in 1896. This trumpet was presented as a gift to the regiment, on his behalf by Count Mensdorff, in August 1907. It is silver with a banner of gold cloth embroidered with the Hapsburg double-headed eagle emblem. The eagle has a shield in the centre displaying the Hapsburg lion on the left, the three lions of Lorraine on the right and the red and white colours of Badenberg in the centre. The shield is surrounded by the collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece. The eagle itself holds a sword and sceptre in one claw and an orb in the other.
