Musicians and trumpeters wore pouch-belts with a white pouch instead of the black ammunition pouch worn by the rest of the regiment. Ammunition pouches did not have a regimental badge but this badge was worn on the white pouch by musician’s and trumpeters. It is another form of the KDG monogram with the battle honour WATERLOO beneath, all on a red leather backing. The date for this badge is not clear but must be quite early c1860. The silver monogram and battle honour were taken from an officer’s shoulder scale which was worn in undress c1840. (See Below)
