The Austrian double-headed eagle badge was reintroduced in 1938, without the regimental title. The badge was not withdrawn for the Second World War, and survived to remain as the cap badge even after amalgamation with the Queen’s Bays in 1959. This cap badge is gilt brass but is also in silver.
