The King’ Dragoon Guards did not have a regimental arm badge before 1896. There is photographic evidence that the officers’ embroidered badge was worn by a corporal c1898 but the first silver arm badges were issued in 1899. They were supplied by Bent & Parker with the Birmingham hallmark of 1899. There were also white metal versions. They were worn by all NCO ranks except warrant officers, initially. The badge measured 41.6mm high by 37.8mm wide and did not include the collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece.
