British Empire Title

The East Surrey Regiment

Officer’s Wolseley Helmet c1930

The actual date of this helmet is not known. It was in an auction at Bosleys in December 2004 and the catalogue says that it is a private purchase foreign service helmet with a seven fold pagri. The edge is bound with leather and inside there is a leather sweatband with a satin edge. The chinstrap was invariably worn on the peak as seen here. The badge is identical to the brass regimental badge worn on the pouches of bandsmen.
