
Henry Bouverie Paulett St John Mildmay was born on 31 July 1810. He was the son of Sir Henry St John Carew St John-Mildmay, 4th Baronet. His mother was Charlotte Bouverie. He succeeded to the baronetcy on 17 Jan 1848. He was a cornet in the 2nd Dragoon Guards on 20 Nov 1828, promoted to lieutenant on 8 June 1830 and captain on 7 April 1837. He left the regiment in 1848. On 6 Feb 1851 he married Helena Shaw-Lefevre, and they had 4 daughters and 3 sons, two of the daughters dying young. The family seat was at Dogmersfield Park. He was High Sheriff of Hampshire in 1862 and was Deputy Lieutenant of Hampshire. He was an officer in the North Hampshire Yeomanry and commanded the Hampshire Yeomanry from 16 June 1868 to 24 April 1882. He died on 16 July 1902 aged 92.
