This back view of the silver metal helmet shows the oak-leaf pattern gilt strip that covers the seam where the two sides of the skull meet. The gilt edging covers the whole lower edge of the helmet. The ear rosettes were normal for all heavy dragoon helmets, to hold the chin-chain in place. The plume holder is fixed to a gilt cross piece and can be seen to have an opening at the very top for the plume.
