The North Hants Yeomanry were raised in 1830, dressed as hussars, in blue uniforms laced and braided, for officers, with silver. This elaborate blue jacket is well covered in fine lace and Russia braid. The braiding on the shoulders continues around the back of the neck. This may have belonged to a field officer but comparing it with other examples of hussar-style jackets, especially of officers, junior and senior, in the East India Company light cavalry and horse artillery suggest that it was worn by all officer ranks.
