The six Battalions of the 6th Rajputana Rifles wore this stringed bugle badge from 1921. Previously the 104th Wellesley’s Rifles had worn a similar badge on turbans and sun helmets but with 104 in the middle, and before 1903 the Roman numeral IV. Some illustrations show it worn with a scarlet cloth backing.
