The black patent leather pouch-belt worn by officers of the 4th Regiment Bombay Native Infantry (Rifle Corps). The battle honours on the large badge on the left include the awards for Afghanistan 1879-80 so these ornaments date after that. The silver whistle was attached to chains that in turn were attached to a boss in the shape of a bugle, or French horn, with IV in the middle. This boss was near the left shoulder when worn. The other bugle badge, with a guelphic crown above, was on the black leather pouch.
