De la Rey's Boers attack the Northumberland Fusiliers, the rearguard of the convoy of wagons near Klerksdorp on 25th Feb 1902. Dunning's narrative tells of a bayonet charge by the battalion during which he was shot several times and became unaware of the fight going on around him.
