Lee Davidson was killed on 9th Sep 2012 when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device in the Nahr-e Saraj district of Helmand. He was 32 and married. The funeral was at St Nicholas Church, Thorne near Doncaster, the church where he and Samantha had married a year earlier. She was pregnant at his funeral. Lee was the 427th British soldier to die in Afghanistan since the war began in Oct 2001.
