56th Punjab Rifles

Various Orders of Dress, 1905

The seated figures are officers in review order, except for the two at the front who are sepoys in service dress. A bandsman on the left is dressed in white with a black turban. He has a pouch on his waistbelt with the regimental badge on it. The topmost figure is a bugler also in white but having a drab and black turban. Next to him is a Pathan in a highly decorated waistcoat. Behind the upper row of officers are two very young members of the regiment. The figure seated in the middle looks like a young prince in civilian clothes.
