The title ‘NINTH LANCERS’ is embroidered in gold on the quilted blue velvet garter surrounding the VR cypher, also embroidered. The crossed lances are all gold, not with red and white pennons as on the pre-1855 shabraque. The lace around the edge of the shabraque is the same as worn on officers' overalls, broken bias pattern.
