In 1913 new kettle drums and horse furniture transformed the drum horse of the 9th Lancers. As well as the silver drums presented to the regiment in June of that year the drum banners and shabraque were redesigned. This blue shabraque has the reversed monogram of Queen Adelaide on crossed lances with the Hanoverian crown above and the title of the regiment below. This is repeated on the other side.
