The undress stable jacket for other ranks was blue with scarlet collar, cuffs and piping on the back seams, sleeves and around the hem, buttoned up the front with 10 small brass buttons. The corporal has two gold lace stripes on his right arm, and he wears a white leather pouch-belt with a plain black leather pouch. The blue forage cap is peakless, having a scarlet cap band and scarlet edging around the top edge and up the four sides, and a red button in the middle. The trousers are the same as in dress uniform, blue with two scarlet stripes down the side. He has a white leather waist-belt for his sword and plain black leather sabretache. An order of 12 March 1834 abolished sabretaches for privates of lancer regiments, but corporals and sergeants continued to wear them.
