The fourth item of officer’s uniform belonging to Captain Oakes-Jones is this white leather waist-belt with slings for the sword and a very interesting early example of a light cavalry sabretache. The buckles and belt clasp are silver. The belt is in four parts, connected with three rings as well as the belt clasp. The sword slings are similar in width to the belt itself, while the sabretache slings are about half the width. The lion's head buckles are of different sizes for sword and sabretache. One sling is missing a buckle so the sabretache is attached to only two slings although it has three D rings. The sabretache is of blue cloth, moth-eaten in places, with a silver lace border and silver embroidery, including the crown.
