Henry Fisher Salter


Henry Fisher Salter was born in Batheaston, Somerset in 1810 He was named as commanding officer of the 3rd Bengal Light Cavalry in the army list of 1842, with the rank of major and brevet lieutenant-colonel. He had previously served in and commanded the 2nd BLC that had been disbanded in 1842. He was appointed CB in 1859, and promoted to lieutenant-general in 1863. He died on 29 Jan 1876.
