This gilt officer’s button has the Victorian Crown above a garter inscribed Punjab Pioneers which was their official title from 1901 to 1903 but the crown dates it before 1901 when it was titled, from 1885, 32nd (Punjab) Regiment of Bengal Infantry. There is no doubt, however, that they were a Sikh Pioneer regiment since they were raised in 1857.
