The 2nd Lancers are depicted in this painting by Thomas Cantrell Dugdale, charging the Turkish lines at El Alfulah in the Valley of Armageddon at 5am on Friday 20 Sep 1918. According to the Cavalry Journal, Gobind Singh VC, the hero of Kildare Trench, was the first man to reach the enemy trenches.
